ERTH

Rest quietly surrounded by water on Erth

Erth Barton is an historical, organic, ethical and riverside retreat.

It marries its medieval roots with a 21st century vision of offering the opportunity to live simply, wildly, immersed in the unspoilt natural landscape surrounded by wildlife .

Erth Barton’s position, is elevated on Erth hill, with views from large granite mullion windows over the River Lynher that snakes around both its sides.

The movement of the tidal river breathes in and out twice daily bringing an ever-changing landscape and light.

This place is wild.

As soon as you drive onto the peninsula, you’re entering another world.

Wild flowers, buzzards, skylarks, swallows, geese, egrets, fallow deer in the oak filled woodlands, and owls in the trees at night call across the river…..

Thank you for the most incredible retreat…

I just wanted to say thank you again for a wonderful stay at Erth - as you could probably tell we were reluctant to leave !

It’s such a special place and your hospitality was exceptional.

We’ll be back…if you’ll have us !

Nadine Saunders - Vinyasa & Rocket Yoga Instructor - May 2024

We LOVED our stay at Erth and you went above and beyond to make us feel at home.

Everyone gasped when they came over that hill and saw the view and as I said when we arrived it's even better in real life than the photos !

What a wonder place you and Polly have created and what an amazing location. Everyone was singing your praises and gushing about Erth.

Thanks again for looking after us and for being generally awesome - lol. I will recommend you to all my yoga teacher friends.

The group are already asking about next year…..

"From the moment you arrive at ERTH you know you’re in for a treat.

The setting, views and ambience of the house is truly magical.

Both the chapel and the yurt offer contrasting, inviting space for yoga, meditation & relaxation.

This retreat centre has been created with love by Polly and Shaun - you’re guaranteed to leave more wholehearted than you arrived...

Yasmina Cherquaoui - Yoga Instructor - June 2024

The chapel is the most special place I have ever practised or taught yoga, the space feels so held - we held dynamic yoga, restorative yoga sessions; gong bath; crystal healing sessions and it worked for all of them.

The guests cried, they laughed and we already have people booking back again for next year ! The team here have been really incredible, always on hand to help us, the views are insane, especially being here in the UK, not having to fly to have the sea close by, the wild water swimming, the flowers are incredible, I didn’t stop taking photos, the wild flowers are so special. I can’t recommend Erth enough, and I can’t wait to be back.

Kathryn Amey - Yoga Teacher & Life Coach - July 2024

Erth offered the most stunning location for my retreat. I was looking for a venue where I knew my clients would feel relaxed and away from it all. Erth was perfect for this. The space worked perfectly for my group and the Chapel really was a WOW factor.

How often do you get to practice yoga in a 12th Century Chapel?!

The unique location offers the opportunity for paddle boarding and wild swims just a short walk along the footpath.

There was really no need to leave Erth as it's stunning location is worth exploring.

Polly and Shaun are the perfect hosts and I can't wait to return in 2025. I have already sold 75% of my spots as so many of my clients want to return!"

Thank you so much for your generous hosting of our group!

We could not have imagined a more magical space for our time on retreat.

Thank you for sharing your passion for Erth with us…

Until our next trip to Erth.
